Description
Bear is a smaller lake at the head
of Bear Creek in the Vermilion basin, 27¾
miles SSE of Crane Lake and 16 miles WNW of Ely. Out of its far south
end, Bear Creek begins its 6 mile run west to Vermilion.
The Bear Lake area was not significantly affected by the Independence
Day windstorms of 1999.
Campsites
Bear supports a single established campsite,
in its southern end.
Planning Considerations
The presence of a campsite on Bear suggests
that it is accessible. How??
Wildlife
Notes and Comments
If you do get in to Bear send us a photo.
We'll publish it here. (It's the only way most BWCA paddlers will
get to see this lake.) |
