Description
Flying is a small, shallow lake in
the Chub River drainage, 5¾ miles south of Gunflint Trail's End and
45¼ miles ENE of Ely. It sits on the busy route from the Round
Lake landing in the east to Gillis in the
west, linked by a 70 rod portage sourthwest to Green
and a 50 rod carry southeast into Gotter. Flying
also connects with the Chub River to the north, by way of both Fay
and Bingshick.
