- Quadga
- A lake in the Isabella River drainage. Name derivation unknown.
- Quarter
- To turn one's canoe at an angle to the wind in order to make progress
against a heavy blow.
- Quetico
- The Ontario provincial
park which lies immediately to the north of the BWCAW. Quetico is a
wilderness park and generally considered more rugged than the BWCAW.
- Quill
- The defensive spines of the porcupine,
used by Native Americans to create elaborate decoration before the arrival
of beads. Kâgobiwe in the Ojibwe.
- Quillwort
- Any of several species of primitive fern allies of the family Isoetaceae.
Represented in the North Country by Lake Quillwort (Isoetes
lacustris) and Spiny Spore Quillwort, (Isoetes
tenella).
